Before upgrading from 8.5x I found a folder that I could not open. It is a folder named PROG and contains some subfolders with important DOS-databases.
After upgrading to the latest version of TC it did not help. In all my years of using TC I have never experienced something like that.
I am running WIN10 32 bit.
TC 8.5x or later: Can't open some folders/archives

The file/folder may be belonging to a different user. Check the permissions with Alt+Enter, then take ownership of it if necessary and give yourself at least read rights.

Thanks for the answer, but it did not help me, as I am the only owner of this folder.
To make things worse I have been blocked to enter my floppy harddisk, where all my vital data are placed incl. the dos-databases.
After this experience I am sure it is virus and going to Trend Micro's website ANTIVIRUS.COM I have scandned my home-network and there is a malicious thind in my D-link, but it takes a technician to handle (still waiting)
I have downoaded a trialversion of MAXIMUM SECURITY (one month free) but it could not detect my floppy harddisk. At the same time the homepage is warning against "Ransomware extortion attacks are on the rise.
Now I DESPERATELY need a technician from Trend Micro - or elsewhere!
