Local Network scanning takes much too long, Anyone else?

Post by *bert269 »

Every time I try to get on my local network (any drive shared or another directory on one of the network devices) - Total Commander sits there, scanning each executable file, and delay responses to the program.
It pops up a window, with the file-name of each .exe file in this directory. It takes about 10-15minutes to complete this, before it allows you to do anything in that directory. Sometimes it scans the same directory over and over.
When you change a shared/network directory, it starts all over with that new directory too.

Very annoying.
I do not know in what version it started, I tried to live with it, but it is becoming too much to handle.
Windows Explorer does NOT show this behavior - so it is something to do with TC. If I think back, I think it started in V9.

Anyone else experience this issue?
Thanks
(I can supply a video of this performance problem)

You can disable per file icons on network shares:
Configuration - Options - Icons: [X] EXE/LNK not on net
