My Imagine 0.900 beta 8 Plugin always fits the image to the quick view panel on 100% zoom.
(when I use zoom in or zoom out to avoid 100% zoom I can see normally)
I've already checked & unchecked the fit only big images but with no effect.

Images are really always shown in "original" size (100% zoom), even if you toggle imagine's option "fit only big images"? If so, I've no clue, sorry...
But if I misunderstood and big images are always zoomed out to fit the pane (magnification <100%), try this:
I assume, that your lister option "Fit image to window" is enabled. To test this,
1. Open an image with <F3> (normal view in an independent lister window)
2. Goto lister menu (not Imagine's menu!) "Options" and uncheck "Fit image to window"
3. Close the lister
4. Open an image with <Ctrl><q> (quick view). Now you should be able to toggle the zoom (100% <-> fit to pane) through Imagine's context menu "Fit only big images".
