solved - no bug[TC 11.00b6] "Commands with parameters" does not work in lowercase with %-parameters in the command line

Post by *petermad »

history.txt wrote:04.06.23 Added: The command line (above buttons F5, F6 etc.) now supports commands with parameters, e.g. cm_OpenDriveByIndex 1 or CD %T%M (32/64)
"Commands with parameters" like CD or SELECTFILES only works with parameters like %M from the command line, if the commands are written in UPPERCASE. Used in Buttons or em_commands these commands as case insensitive, could the same be possible when used in the command line?

This is intentional so you can still launch programs with these names.

Is that documented? - I cannot find anything about it in neither Help nor History.

No it's not. Where would you put that in the help? User interface - Command line?

Yes, that seems a logical place, and cd is already mentioned there. Maybe this help section should also mention that you can also run cm_cammands and em_commands from the command line.

OK, I will add something like this:
The command line also handles internal commands starting with cm_ and em_, and commands with parameters like OPENTABS. The latter must be written in capital letters.
