What I do:
1. Step on big folder with music (almost 400 Gigs and >40k files)
2. Then create checksum file. Here I use MD5 for some reasons. May be another sums are affected too, I did not check them.
3. Now wait for some long time and look on progress. Now it looks fine, current files anount and sizes are shown proper.
4. Then just click "background" button. It still works fine.
5. Now click "foreground", and it still works fine.
6. Then click "background" button again and see the problem: the processed MBytes are shown as 0 instead of real amount.

You may then again click BG/FG to see, that normal window shows MBytes. Only BG is affected.
May be, that would happen on 3rd or 4th BG/FG change, I did not count that. Just noticed this again in my daily jobs.

Thanks. I'll try to check that on my next backup sync operation. May be in some weeks.
