Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
The various Access violation errors when using 64-bit TC are probably caused by the same thing. The errors may pop up during all kinds of things and it's hard to provide consistent steps to reproduce it. I think found a way in this thread: [TC 11.50b1 64-bit] Access violation when pressing F1 in Multi-Rename Tool
It probably has to do with creating and destroying folder tabs, resulting in errors when you do other things later.

Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
I was able to reproduce the F1 in multi-rename tool error, but not this one - the addresses are completely different.
This one is similar to the one where someone tried to rename a file:
viewtopic.php?t=84117
Both happen in the function which resizes and rearranges the controls in the main window.
Unfortunately it doesn't make any sense, and I couldn't reproduce it so far.
So any clue on how to reproduce it would be very helpful.

Pretty hard to repro, but I think I could discover simple steps.
1. Open new TC instance.
2. CTRL+T x N times in left panel (must be drive C: by default), where N in mine case must be > 3 (don't ask why, I don't know)
3. Switch to right panel
4. CTRL+T and crash
If does not repro, then try to increase N. Change default drive or the left panel default current directory.

Tested with a lot of Ctrl-T and different dirs.andry81 wrote: 2024-10-13, 16:42 UTC Pretty hard to repro, but I think I could discover simple steps.

Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
The above mentioned "F1 in multi-rename tool error" is caused by multiple Ctrl+T presses, so if you have to press Ctrl+T too it's the same error. Please wait for beta 2 for confirmation.

Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
I am not sure about the "F1 in multi-rename tool error" case, but for my case, I think I found a way to repo it.
If I change "View Mode" -> "Columns view" to "Unchanged", then this Access violation error will NOT pop up. But if I change the Columns view to "Full", and switch to tabs of the corresponding folder, this error will pop up (but not 100%)

Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
I had the same issue for the 2nd time.
First time was after I was checking the settings of TC, and didn't save changes. When trying to reproduce, I was not getting the error
Just had the same error for the 2nd time. This time after starting my computer from sleep, while TC running on background (as I do all the time).
Unfortunately unable to reproduce, but appears to be random here

Re: [TC 11.50b1] Access violation keeps popping up
I thought I have found the way to reproduce, but after second successful reproduction time it's gone.
So, what it was.
1) Two monitors.
2) On the main one is TC.
3) On the second one is VMware Workstation.
3) The left panel of TC is the folder where virtual machine files will get created.
4) As soon as I created new virtual machine (without running it), I switch to TC and minimize it -> only then it fires that pesky exception.
It happened two times in a row, but in the third time it doesn't appear (or I messed up somehow).
