Hello, sometimes I find myself comparing directories where files have been renamed, manually or by some tools, so, to use "Synchronize dirs" I first have to rename all of them, if possible by multiple rename, otherwise I have to search for duplicates comparing only by size and content, but then the big manual work has to be done deleting or renaming the desidered files in the results list. The results list may be very long. This method fails when searching inside archives, because when I send the results to the panel, I only get the archive files, not the contaned found files.
So why not having the "Synchronize dirs" comparing files by size instead of names?
Of course name are guaranteed to be unique and sizes not, but comparing just the "first" file of the same size would be a great step forward for me. A possible more advanced solution would be to compare each of the files of the same size and show all equalities, but I guess this would add complexity to the algorithm as well as the user interface.
Thank you for your ideas or personal solutions to the problem I tryed to explain.
