CAN'T YOU WARN BEFORE THAT YOU DO NOT ALLOW NEW USERS TO ...

It is NOT NORMAL BEHAVIOUR to kill the users first post several times without warning before!
And it is NEITHER NORMAL BEHAVIOUR to do the above in a way that the user has first to find out why his post is deleted several times!
And it is EVEN WORSE BEHAVIOUR to not let the user edit his post if there is a problem with it!
If THIS is the normal way you are greeting new users here then you don't have to complain about shouting about that!

Maybe this voice is normal for a Cockatoo, but please could You be so kind and lower your voice?

It's really no pleasure to read this screaming.
Thanks

It is really no pleasure to get the first post multiply deleted without warning and without possibility do edit and correct it!!! But that seems to be the way new users are "greeted" here (I really can't use the word "welcomed" here even if it should be more appropriate) ...HolgerK wrote:It's really no pleasure to read this screaming.
As one stated before: it would not happen if you use a browser like firefox.
And about multiple times: it looks like you have ignored the message from the board multiple times.
Anyway, a friendly suggestion to add a appropriate note to http://ghisler.ch/board/profile.php?mode=register would result in a more friendlier welcome here in the forum.
Kind regards
Holger

There was NO warning NOT to use IE - and there was NEITHER any obligation to have scripting enabled (that's not the same thing than the use of cookies!)! And there is no reason that anyone has or has not to prescribe anyone what browser he has to use or not - just in general!HolgerK wrote:As one stated before: it would not happen if you use a browser like firefox.
DEFINITELY NO - AND THAT'S WHY I WAS SHOUTING - AND THAT'S WHY I AM AGAIN SHOUTING HERE! (sorry for it again)HolgerK wrote:And about multiple times: it looks like you have ignored the message from the board multiple times.
The first time was becaus of creating a real web-link (yes, I did - I wanted to link to FolderSize on Sourceforge). The complaint here is that there is NO FURTHER EDITING POSSIBLE (what is unfriendly to the new user as he is treated as a SPAMmer that has immediately to be kicked out - even if he is not - meaning: HE IS GUILTY (even if he did not something bad). That's american mentality: first shoot, and then ask - when it's too late).
But the second time was BECAUSE OF PUTTING THE THREE LETTERS _U_, _R_ AND _L_ without space or any other letter inbetween (using another word for a web-link). And THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
As mentioned above: it is pretty fine and an effective way to get spammers away when not allowing "real links" (that work as link and are clickable or readable) for the first day. That is a really WORKING SPAM PROTECTION - and I have nothing against!! But where was the warning before killing my text????? Killing my text and not allowing editing it is the problem - NOT the SPAM-protection!
And just treating the three letters _U_, _R_ and _L_ to be an active link is not acceptable! THIS IS THE SECOND OF THE PROBLEMS HERE! And again no possibility to further edit (that's the first problem from above)!!
Of course would that have been - but even you show that it was absolutely necessary to make such a riot - just that someone gets the problem! I really don't want to offend you - but EVEN YOU did not get so far what the two problems are - specially the second one! (Just to remind: 1. no possiblility to correct 2. treating the le letters _u_, _r_ and _l_ as link - even if it is not a link).HolgerK wrote:Anyway, a friendly suggestion to add a appropriate note to *** (sorry, I have to kill your link - otherwise I cannot post - even if it is an internal link!!!) *** would result in a more friendlier welcome here in the forum.
Try it! Create a new user, open a new thread, and write in the text field the three letters _u_, _r_ and _l_ (without anything in between) - and your text will be killed without warning and you won't have the possibility to continue editing it! THAT'S WHAT I'M COMPLAINING ABOUT!!
I'm really sorry that it turned out that way!
PS: Again all was killed (probably because of the link) - but for not being killed again, I again put underlines around the three non-allowed letters. That's quite exaggerated - but obviously necessary!
Kakadu,
Roman
A polite suggestion would have done it as well.it was absolutely necessary to make such a riot - just that someone gets the problem!

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
Kakadu,
All the necessary context is there. If anyone has any doubts, he can read the original post if there is anything else to add. Unless you edit and change its meaning of course.
