Saving settings in Find files Dialog (standalone process)

Post by *Ovg »

TC 9.0 RC2 x64

I have found that settings for text search are saved only if the first closed window is the main TC window and the second one is Find Files (standalone) dialog window. Is this intentional?

The question is what would be the desired behavior?

I would prefer to settings is saved at the reverse order of closing the windows, as is now working version 9.0 RC2 x86.

TC 9.0 RC2 x64

This is how it was in TC9b17 and TC9rc1 (see: http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=45980) - but it is fixed in TC9rc2, and I don't see any difference between the behaviour of the 32bit and the 64bit version of rc2 in this respect.

Are you perhaps talking about the situation where you have both a standalone Search window and a modal Search window open - in that case TC saves the setting of the last closed window - which I find logical (notice that a search has to be performed for the changes to the settings to be saved).

Are you sure your 64bit version is rc2 and not rc1?

No, I never use modal Find Files dialog, only standalone Find Files.
Yes, I'm talking about 9.0 RC2 x64, x86 working as I want: after changing some settings:

1. Close Find Files (standalone) dialog
2. Close TC window
3. Start TC
4. Open Find Files (standalone) dialog - setting change in previous session are saved.
For me x64 saves settings only if I close windows in reverse order: TC main window is closed first and then Find Files dialog is closed.

Ah, now I see. It is not that the changes after the standalone search aren't saved to wincmd.ini, but they are reset when TC is closed. So in fact it is the same bug as http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?p=318680#318680 - but now only in the 64bit version.

So I was wrong when I confirmed the bug fixed in the other thread, apparantly I only tested the 32 bit version
16.10.16 Fixed: Search function: Load/Save last search options (checkboxes) each time when opening/closing the search dialog, to better support standalone search (32/64)
