[11.50b1 x32] 7ZIP does not run on Win95/98

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

-stl to set archive date to that of the newest contained file

Does your version of 7zip not support any of these?
UTF-16 is supported starting from 9.32 alpha (for Windows 2000+ only), -stl is supported starting from 9.30 alpha (last working in Win9x). Both versions are buggy and should not be used for normal work.

The only thing you should check is the additional parameters line
I don't have anything in the Additional parameters line, neither in 7-Zip's options, not in TC's Extra parameters line, in my WIndows XP

I could use UTF-8 instead of UTF-16 on NT based systems, that should be supported by older 7-Zip versions too. What do you think?

Microsoft is probably very happy about this thread, one of the last serious competitors for File Explorer is wasting valuable development time here.

I have tried to compile 7zg.exe from 7-Zip sources with Visual Studio 6.0, and it seems to run fine even on Windows 9x:

If you want, you can try it also on Windows NT, 2000 etc.

Do you plan to add this exe to TC's installer? Or any license problems may be there?
