UTF-16 is supported starting from 9.32 alpha (for Windows 2000+ only), -stl is supported starting from 9.30 alpha (last working in Win9x). Both versions are buggy and should not be used for normal work.ghisler(Author) wrote: 2024-10-16, 13:35 UTC It's probably because I use switch -scsUTF-16LE to pass names as Unicode to 7zg.exe.

-stl to set archive date to that of the newest contained file
Does your version of 7zip not support any of these?

I don't have anything in the Additional parameters line, neither in 7-Zip's options, not in TC's Extra parameters line, in my WIndows XPThe only thing you should check is the additional parameters line

I could use UTF-8 instead of UTF-16 on NT based systems, that should be supported by older 7-Zip versions too. What do you think?

Microsoft is probably very happy about this thread, one of the last serious competitors for File Explorer is wasting valuable development time here.

I have tried to compile 7zg.exe from 7-Zip sources with Visual Studio 6.0, and it seems to run fine even on Windows 9x:

If you want, you can try it also on Windows NT, 2000 etc.

Do you plan to add this exe to TC's installer? Or any license problems may be there?
