CTRL+S brings up a small filter option for the current listed files - which is fine, but is there a way to make it keep the filer when browsing to other directories?
I'm not interested in using the "Custom" file view.
Thanks in advance.

You can press Ctrl+Shift+S to open the last used filter - does that help you?

Ctrl+S is a temporary filter. You can set a permanent filter with Ctrl+F12, or via menu "Show".
