Cursor in file panel moves to wrong Dir in Netw.Neigborhood

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

Cursor in file panel moves to wrong Dir in Netw.Neigborhood

Post by *petermad »

On one of my PC's I have a device with the same name as the PC (Peter1), which shows up in the file panel when I open the Network Neighborhood.

See: http://madsenworld.dk/tcmd/networkdevice.png

If I have these entries in my wincmd.ini:
[Configuration]
SortDirsByName=0

[left]
sortorder=4
and I open Network Neighborhood in the left panel, then if I go into Peter1 (the PC - blue monitor icon) and go back again, the cursor is now placed on the other Peter1 dir (with the device icon).

Same thing happens if I place the cursor on the Peter1 with the blue monitor and put TC in the background and back to the forebround.

The device in my case is a "CyberLink Media Server" ( http://192.168.1.209:56455/ )

This behaviour is not new to TC9, it also applies to TC 8.52a

You have a little typo in your link there, it must be networkdevice.png.

Unfortunately I cannot fix that. I tried to remove these extra entries, but they cannot be recognized with the parameters provided by Windows. When you go up, TC places the cursor by name, so TC cannot distinguish the two when they have the same name.
