Viewing / listening to MP3-files
Once I was able to press F3 to listen to a MP3 or WAV file but not with version 6.54. TC freezes and the onlye way to listen to the files is via WMP.
Can someone help me?

TC just uses the windows media player to play these files, so reinstalling TC should not change anything (make it neither better nor worse). Have you tried that registry tip with "MPEGVideo"?

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Hmmmm - this is odd.
Yes I did try that and I have already got a registry entry called that
I thought that TC used an internal player since when (in the past) pressing F3 on MP3-files a small pop-up player opened.
The problem began after installing/uninstalling som of the plugins here from the programs web-site. I now run NO plug-ins /add ons.
I have also deleted all temp folders etc. so that's not an issue.

Does it work if you try running TC with a clean INI?

Code: Select all
totalcmd.exe /i=.\test.ini

When I double-click on a mediafile in TC it perfectly opens WMP - and plays.
When pressing F3 on an MP3-file it tries to do something - but does not - instead TC freezes. Simply do not respond.
I can use TC's built in lister to watch MPEG-video or AVI and - here comes the mysticsm - it can also play WAV files - but MP3-files - no no no can do.....
TC also freezes on quickviewing MP3-files.
